n/aSorry for the lack of updates recently. Although probably most would argue that "ooi Marcus you update once a week quite often already look at Nelson's blog he hasn't updated in 3429480 years(No, he's just not in town) or Lide's blog when he didn't update for 10 days on one particular occasion.
Okay maybe there're few explanations for it:
1) the following excerpt on Lide's tagboard superlide said this at Wed, Nov 22 2006 (09:54:12 am): hahahaha lame sial. well dey say: da3 shi4 teng2, ma4 shi4 ai4. oh wells... i shld blog soon... its been another week since i did
Marc=)said this at Thu, Nov 23 2006 (09:55:21 am): blog when u have things to say lohs..dun blog for the sake of bloggin'..GTM only..lols
superlide said this at Thu, Nov 23 2006 (10:02:42 am): wahahaha true true. i wonder how come i had so much to say in the past. i guess nowadays we see things frm different perspective liao haha. wads impt and wads not.
2) i've been pretty busy these days. this is how this week's schedule roughly looks like:Saturday:Booked out at 1500
Sunday:Booked in by 2130
Monday: Parade rehearsal in the morning
Lunch
Parade rehearsal in the afternoon(replaced by alternative training which was strenuous on the vocal chord due to the adverse weather conditions)
Tuesday:Parade rehearsal in the morning
Lunch
ACPC(for the ignorant is Army Certificate Presentation Ceremony) rehearsal in the afternoon
Wednesday:Parade rehearsal in the morning
Lunch
Parade rehearsal in the afternoon.....
Ok fine. Stop. I guess you've gotten the idea and I wouldn't wanna piss you or bore you or waste your time by vomitting to you whatever's wrriten in the timetable or my planner. For those who are
really really interested to know what we do in parade( hentaki, sediya etc. etc.) go beg, borrow or steal from your mother, father, sister, brother, cousins, relatives, friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, boyfriend(if you're a guy), girlfriend(if you're a gal) for the entrance tickets for 63/06 OCC Commissioning Parade.
Anyways I've really digressed on the main subject on today's topic. For the past week which was the start of joint-term, we(referring to us the commissioning officer cadets) have been exposed to several talks about officership by several senior figures(which includes my wing comd as well). And maybe I would like to share some of the pointers which I've thought to be worthy as to share with others
(sometimes I wonder why I talk as if I've an audience as comparable to that of a national day's parade) or worthy to serve as a reminder or reference as I begin my journey as an officer.
One of the things mentioned is that Officership is actually a profession. Wow. Didn't know that right? That's normal, because when the word "professionals" come to our mind, we more or less imagine people such as doctors, teachers, and lawyers, but that of military officers? Highly unlikely. Yet, the profession of arms is commonly acknowledged to be one of the original professions. In other words, to be a military officer is to be a professional.
I shall leave the following quotes to do the talking. I figured that these quotes would probably teach more than you trying to understand a whole chunk of what I would type out. (heh. and a convenient excuse to not phrase what I learnt in my own words. Ok ok fine I'll do so when I've more time!)
"But earning your bars to become an officer is more than acquiring all this tactical and technical knowledge, or being a super-fit soldier. It is to become a leader of men, to be responsible for them, to look after them, discipline them, inspire them, and lead them by your personal example."-Them DPM Lee Hisen Loong, 41/00 Commissioning Parade, 29 July 2001
"As you experience for yourself the demands and the responsibilities that are entrusted to you as a leader, the SAF Core Values and the Officer's Creed that you have subscribed to will serve you well as your personal compass. The values they encompass, and which have been instilled in you in OCs, will be a reliable guiode as you mature as a leader."-President S R Nathan, 47/02 OCC Commissioning Parade, 25 Jan 2003
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."-George Orwell
How true. Sometimes I wonder if our own local people are actually taking for granted for what they are enjoying now. I sometimes wonder if I didn't actually gone through NS myself, I probably wouldn't be thinking like that. When I go overseas for training, people actually treat us with respect and awe. As one speaker was sharing his experience with training overseas in a talk today, he was actually surprised how comfortable the villagers were with the presence of troops with weapons. It is really heartening to know when people are really supportive and appreciative about what you're doing.
I know sometimes I may not be good in doing certain things. I might be far from perfect, but that gives you no room to judge me, especially when you yourself can't do it the right way. I would rather you teach me how, rather than to say a whole lot of crap and end up not knowing how to do it yourself. Having done so, I don't see the position you're in to judge me. See what I mean? Sometimes only having been the victim then you know how others can be a bloody maggot. Another lesson learnt, don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you. And yes. Actions speak louder than words.

she lays down on her back
down on her back
and she goes
By right, I shouldn't be blogging at this very moment, because Microsoft Words is in the background and there is this report that needs to be rushed out and handed up the next morning. But owells I've things to say and before I forget I better engrave it into this memory vault of mine.
I shall say this weekend is a jolly good one, except the fact on friday there was some miscommunication, and hence caused Nel to travel halfway for nothing. Eh bro, really sorry about that.
Furthermore, the music there's playing now suits my mood very well. Seems like the formula that dictates the "Shuffle" function is getting to know me better. Kudos to you. Get a #$%^ed up formula, and you get #%&$ed up music which will inevitably lead to a @#$^ed up Marcus. Simple but straightforward equation.
on Vineland past the candle shrine that melts into the street design
she waits - for someone
tonight she'll give herself away
she'll break apart all by herself
its so easy how we come undone
Finally met you on Saturday
It has been a really long time
It felt quite good to be around you
to be comfortable about what I've to say
about the common topics
it's really heartening
and yes, it has been quite some time since I felt this happy before
great company
great atmosphere
great food
what more can i ask for?
but for all these to happen, I think I have to credit a certain someone for this
for helping me indirectly
(for telling the other stuff that I've never wanted the other to know!)
oh well
thanks anyway
and oh boy
she's hot
she's pretty
she's cute
what more can you ask for?!?
she pulls me in and strips me down
she pulls me in and turns me out
she pulls me in and strips me down
And yes, suddenly this thought came to my mind
It has been crossing my mind for quite some time already
Time is quite a poor representation of the strength of a relationship
One doesn't have to spend a long time together to build a strong relationship
Ahhh..As I'm saying this I'm actually typing this analogy out in my report =O
Oh no..The amount of stuff that I've written here is about 2 times more than in my report!
looks like I won't be sleeping anytime soon
take me over when I'm gone
take me over make me strong
take me over when I'm gone
will they burn for me
things will definitely be better if you were here tonight
am i destined to not even get to know you better?
looking at the countdown, watching as the numeric figures diminish
neuf, huit, sept, six, cinq, quatre, trois, deux, une
ZERO
marcus: time waits for no man
remember, don't learn things the hard way
when will i ever muster that courage
when will that day ever come?

=The Mis-cue=Countdown: t-minus 5 weeks 3 daysSong ringing in my head:
-Cocktail that I'm craving now:

this testThe result:
You are feeling really miserable at this time and you'd like to form a relationship with someone with whom you could really communicate. At the same time, whoever it may be, that special 'someone' must not conflict with your own belief system or ideals. This makes for tough going - but it would seem that the situation is only transitory. It will soon pass.
Recently you have been experiencing considerable mental anguish and turmoil. You are bored and discontent. Nothing seems to be going right for you. Even your relationships aren't working out and you don't quite know which way to turn.
The situation at this time is one of considerable distress. You feel trapped and you are looking for some way out. You can find solace in the arms of someone who cares so long as there is no long-term emotional involvement.
Recently everything seems to have gone wrong and so you are experiencing considerable stress and anxiety due to mental conflict. A continuous case of 'Should I?' or 'Shouldn't I?'. At this particular moment in time you feel as if you have reached the end of your tether and it seems impossible to ever rectify the situation and so you have decided, perhaps quite unrealistically, to postpone making any further decisions. Disappointment and unfulfilled hopes have given rise to despondency. This conflict between hope and necessity is creating considerable pressure. Instead of resolving this by facing up to making the essential decision, you are likely to immerse yourself in the pursuit of trivialities as an escape route.
Trying to cope with conditions which you think are beyond your capabilities has led to considerable anxiety and stress. You now feel that you are not capable of coping with this situation and indeed any situation which could arise from what you consider to be your personal inadequacy.
It was accurate for xy.
The accuracy for mine?
You decide.

Dear memory vault,
I'm sorry I have to feed you with another short and concise entry.
I apologise for the lack of quantity and quality of my entries but yeah this is all I can manage for the time being. So hang on my vault.
The training regime has started.
The challenging part is the acceleration
About an engine having a cold start
From 0 to ...
"The following part is true; it's not made up"
First Lieutenant M told me to channel all my hatred into it.
He told me, "Remember that girl whom say no?".
Come on, all you have to do just focus, and unleash all your negative emotions.
Sometimes I feel that I can destroy the world several times over and over if my negative emotions could killWhenever I was feeling down last time, the water would soothe me
Without speaking a word
It's like as if our hearts could communicate, without a single word from the mouth
But without it now, I've more or less started to lose control.
It's just not me.
Or rather, it's me.
Anyways I don't know why yesterday I just felt like eating lots and lots offish.
Any kind of fish.
Seabass, swordfish, salmon, tuna etc.
Any style.
BBQ. Fried. Steamed. Sashimi.
I felt slightly happier on Monday.
Didn't know why but I felt an urge to talk to people(as compared to other days).
Damn. Why is it whenever I want to blog I have alot of things to write.
But when I'm typing I can't remember what I want to say.
You've changed somehow. Another one. It's scary.
I'm afraid I have to lose you someday.
I can't afford to, I've already lost too many.
What's the cause of it?
Always treasure things when they are around.
I asked my parents over lunch the other day to bring me to this place to eat the fishball mee pok for the following day's breakfast.
They were like, huh? this place got mehs?
After a more vivid description, they were like ohhhh
It's not there anymore.
I was like, WHAT? Because that stall really serves heavenly mee pok noodles.
Real heavenly.
Parents told me that the owner passed away already. He went to the doctor and was diagnosed with cancer. 3 months left to live.
I haven't got a chance to eat at this place for the whole of 2006 because my very hectic and nocturnal schedule.
And now I won't ever have the chance again.
I repeat myself again, always treasure things when they are around.
The SAF 4th Core Value: PROFESSIONALISM.
Sometimes, we just have to be professional about the things we do. It may not be the things we like, or rather it could be something that nobody would like to do. But somehow somewhat, somebody has to get it done. So since it has to be done, don't complain, since it won't help. Complaining just makes it worse. I hear you complaining 24/7, and sometimes it haunts me in my sleep. The person next to you doing the same thing doesn't have to like what he's doing, but at least he knows what's he supposed to do, and he does it without another word. I don't want to backstab(if that's what you call it) anymore. Because I want to lead by example. I don't want to be doing the same things as you when I hate what you're doing.
Don't do to others what you don't like others to do to you.
I have to be firm with the policies set. Make sure they are executed. Mean what I've laid down.
I shall write about today's happenings when I have the time (or motivation) to do so.
Till then.
Avce l'amour,
Marc
It's
